WHY ISN’T DRONE DELIVERY EVERYWHERE? FAA HAS THE ANSWER

Breaking Through the Barrier That's Grounded the Industry

Ten years ago, Jeff Bezos promised drones would soon deliver packages to our doorsteps. Yet today, despite the hype and headlines, most deliveries still arrive by van. So, what happened?

The answer is simple: regulation.

While the technology has evolved rapidly, the laws governing drone flight—especially Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS)—have not. Without special exemptions, commercial drones in the U.S. must remain in the pilot’s direct line of sight, which drastically limits their range, scalability, and cost-effectiveness. That’s why most drone delivery today is confined to small pilots in rural areas—not dense cities where they’re most needed.

Aeros is rewriting the playbook.

Instead of waiting for future BVLOS approvals, Aeros designed a solution that works within the current FAA rules.

Our Airborne Fulfillment Center (AFC) utilizes all-electric airship that hovers high above a delivery zone. It houses both packages and drones onboard. From there:

  • Drones fly within visual line of sight to customers’ doorsteps
  • An onboard Visual Observer ensures regulatory compliance
  • Drones return to the airship for reloading, reducing land-based complexity

It’s a breakthrough in drone commercialization—enabling urban, scalable, and zero-emission drone delivery today.

With our FAA-recognized Concept of Operations (CONOPS) and demonstration flights scheduled for this year, we’re turning the drone delivery dream into a reality.

Aeros is a global leader in designing, FAA certifying, manufacturing, and delivering advanced airships and aerostats worldwide. For over a century, airships have faced a fundamental challenge—losing stability as cargo is unloaded. Competitors have failed to solve this. Aeros has not only solved it—we’ve patented it. Like a submarine adjusting depth, our aircraft control buoyancy in real-time, enabling unrestricted logistics from transcontinental freight to last-mile delivery—without ground infrastructure. To learn more, visit www.Aeroscraft.com
