As a Mechanical Engineering Intern, you will be working in a fast-paced engineering and production environment. Aeros is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern to assist the engineering team with designs and plans for machining, processing, assembly, and material handling. You will work with team members in all disciplines to solve challenging problems and build institutional knowledge about complex systems. You will be involved in all aspects of design including systems engineering, manufacturing, and mechanical integration.
Essential Functions:
• Create 3D models
• Create, revise, and edit production drawings
• Prototyping and testing
• Designing mechanical, structural, electro-mechanical, and pneumatic systems
• Research and development
• Work with vendors to locate parts based on requirements
Qualifications:
• Strong computer skills including experience with Microsoft Office products and computer-aided drafting software, such as Solid Works
• Knowledge of Catia V6 is a plus
• Knowledge of applicable industry and/or academic practices and standards in mechanical design
• Experience with the design process from requirements to implementation
• Experience working with Government regulations (FAA, DOT, etc) a plus
